Details
A relaxing ride through the countryside past farms, the small town of Lumby, stretches of river, and ending at Mabel Lake Provincial Park. There are some nice twisty sections along the route. The pavement is generally in good condition, but there are some rough patches and frost heaves. Traffic is usually light along Mabel Lake Road and light to moderate on Hwy 6, depending on the time of day.
Shuswap Falls is worth the stop. The entrance to the parking area is a short distance down Mabel Lake Road from the bridge crossing the river.
The pavement along Mabel Lake Road ends 34.4 km from Lumby. It's about 2.6 km of hard packed gravel road to the Mabel Lake Provincial Park entrance, and it's a short ride to the parking area from there. There is beach access, picnic areas and camping in the park.
